Well, I couldn't just take anybody's word for it, I had to try the 5100 for myself. And since nobody I know owns one, I had to procure one myself. Made a great Valentine's present to myself. I like the saw pretty well. I didn't cut too much with it, it's finally snowing again here. But, it cuts well (even with the bent raker chain) and is smooth as butter. It feels light, but I'm used to using an 044 with a 32" bar as my smallest saw. I think it'll have a good spot in my lineup, take it on the back of my dirt bike in the spring to clear out trails, use it when I cut lodgepole for firewood, take it out in the snow cat, etc. For $340 brand new, I didn't think I could go wrong. I'm stoked, now I just need to run some fuel through it.
