Another Recommend a chain

Hello,

Can one of you all recomend a good chain for me. I cut a lot of fire wood with a husky 357xp with 18" bar.

I want a fast cutting chain. I don't want any of this low kickback chain you see in stores.

Any help would be great...

I assume you are using 3/8" .050 chain, 68 drive links?

If you are, I run the same set up with either Woodsman Pro 30RC chain from Bailey's or Stihl RSC chain on my 357XP with great results.

I cut a lot of red oak and cherry.

I myself prefer a chisel, RSC stihl chain. You can use a .050 on a .058 bar which will cause a very little bit of run in your cut, but has always worked fine for me. I actually found out about this when my local shop stuck a .050 on my 266, I never knew a difference. Found out after, dealer said it was fine and would cause no problems... Read those manuals and be careful with those chisels bud... They'll bite ya fast if you arent' careful, I've got the 2 scars on my face to prove it... opcorn:

If your saw will run it it cuts fast. But like the last guy wrote be carful it is unforgiving. Be carful and good luck hope this helps you make up your mind.

I use Stihl's RS & RSC chains on my Husky & Stihl. The Oregon 73LG worked well also but the Stihl RS/RSC hold's it's edge longer. If your 357xp uses 58 gauge 68 drive link I might be able to help you because it's hard to find 58 gauge Stihl chain. I might be able to spare an extra loop.
