If so, check out the "Homeowners Helper" forum. A lady over your way has several big trees down from a storm. She has a huge Beech she says is 10 foot around, plus a big Ash and a big Whitebeam. I wouldn't mind plankin a big Beech like that, Joe.

YES it does sound like fun but i would want to take it home , at least half of it . what does white beam look like , is it dense like beech ? I bet i would have a problem at the airport with the big saw and mill stuff . Beech would sure make a nice bench.

I don't know what a Whitebeam looks like, or the characteristics of the wood. I'm a little closer to Scotland than you, but I still have that big chunk of water in my way too. Maybe some one will post up some pics, Joe.
