This saw is a relic that my Grandfather used to own. Can any of the pro's here help me to identify it? It actually runs but is HEAVY and just as LOUD! I can remember cutting w/it some 25 yrs ago and it was just as heavy and loud back then too :jawdrop:

That saw is of the classic early Homelite design, could also be Remington but definately not a Mac.

How hard are the Mac sp125 saws to find? I've been looking on fleabay for a few.....
Rather hard to find. When they pop up they usually get snapped up quickly.I just got lucky on my two.My saving grace that the auctions went off in the wee hours and I worked until 2 am in those days. That plus the fact I have a fast connection and can snipe really fast.

Back to the subject,I really have no idea what brand of saw that is,only the fact that it's old.

Your saw may be this one, LAMB SAW CO.
MADE IN, LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK,

Your saw has no chrome bar on the bottom like this one,
This saw looks real close to yours, May be a different model but
same company, Your saw has a west bend engine.

BigMac, you're right I think. They both favor quite a bit w/the exception of the ones in the pic being in much better condition that the one I have. I'd like to know the age of this brute though. Its so heavy you could use this saw in the world strongest man competition :jawdrop: .

Don't hold me to this but I think it is a Mall. Like Scott said. Don't know anything about them though, just remember seeing them.

Art, I have never heard of a Mall saw in my life? What else do you know about them? I think I'm going to graciously donate this one to a friend of mine.

Don't know anything really. Just a good idea what they look like. Do a search on e-bay and you will find some more. If your friend is old enough he may just appreciate it. Wish I could be of more help.

Anything is possible, but it has an 'M' embossed on the cover of the pull start. However, that doesn't mean it is not a Titan. Perhaps a closer inspection of the bottom stampings are in order.

It would be an "M" on the starter cover along with an "F" because it is an FM (Fairbanks Morse) starter. Same as what was used on many saws of the era.

I do not know what that is but I like it! The lines are sweet! The handle is a work of art, and The muffler shield is in the right place wooooh I likes it a lot! I do not know what it is but I can say That the saw is a work of art man! The lines flow through the piece and it needs a name or model number quick. I think it is a pro model of the time but it at least deserves a name to define its nature. hmmm What can it be??????????????? I know someone can respond without a doubt.
