Are the MS290's and 310's really junk...?

My main gripe is the weight.....my 036 cuts rings around the 290.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a complete chainsaw amateur, and have very few hours running any chainsaw. I also have partial paralysis/limited strength in my left arm so my experiences may differ from others. I agree the 036 (or 361) is a lot more saw than the 290, but I've run my buddies 290 and it is a nice smooth comfortable saw, especially for bucking. The 361 is awesome, as it is very difficult to bog (at least that's been my experience), but it's almost twice the price of the 290. I have an 026, and it's great for limbing, but the 290 is much nicer to buck with as it has a bit more power, and the weight actually helps in the cut. I'd definitely buy a 290, and would really like to try a 310 and 390 to see how they measure up.

Thanks fletcher0780,

I'm closely following this thread and the one where the guy bought the MS290 over the MS361. When all is said and done these two threads will be of tremendous help to me in my next saw purchase.
