Thought I would get a couple opinions from the experts here.

I have a client who has an 039 Stihl 10 years old. It is in excellent condition but I have not seen or heard it run yet. Original bar and chain. Shows almost no wear anywhere.

Anyway, he wants me to give him "a price" for the saw in order so we can deduct this from the cost of my proposed tree work. During our last conversation, he says the saw on the internet is $630.00. He only paid 430.00 for it though 10 years ago.

To make a long story short, I believe the saw to be worth $125-175 max considering it is 10 years old and has been sitting a long while... am I off the deep end or in the ball park?

What say you?

I think around $125.00 would be about max I would pay for that saw it was nothing special 10 years ago and it is stilll not very special. I would also check the compression Im sure that saw would need a carb kit after sitting for awhile. I would say 150 would be my max to go on that saw.

I agree. considering that its 10 years old, it could probably use a carb kit, and fuel lines in it. otehr than that, I think you're right on target.

Thanks MB. I did not know I could do that....I have not been paying attention once again.
