The comment about the cost of disposing wood brings up a real sore story for me. I hired a local contractor to roof one of our rental houses. His bid was high but he seemed to be a decent guy so I went with him. He had a disposal charge of about $300 if I remember correctly. I didn't think it was a big deal because the city the house is located in will bring you a dump truck and leave the keys in it for you to use. Once you are finished or it is full they will dispose of the materila. This is all done free of charge. When I went to settle up with him he insisted that I still pay the $300 fee even though he had not part of the disposal. It is amazing how dishonest he was and how many other jobs that $300 has cost him. I realize this is way off topic but it came to mind when I read the previous post.
