It's been a while since I've been on here or broke out the saw mill. Got it out yesterday and made 4 quick cuts to get 3 nice slabs of cedar. They are just over 9' long and about 20" wide on the widest one. I put the Makita up next to the slabs for size comparison.
I quickly remembered all the things I love and hate about chainsaw milling.
Love taking a chunk of a tree that would otherwise by scrap and turning it into a beautiful piece of lumber.
Love the smell of the wood while being cut. Cedar is very nice.
Love working outside
Hate getting all dirty even with just a few cuts.
Hate breathing the fumes and dust. (wear a mask, I know)
The love far out ways the hates as the overall satisfaction is so great.
