Thanks to all that responded to my question so quickly. It looks like the 357XP will do the trick. I was wondering about recommendations on where to purchase for best prices and service (hopefully both at the same place!). Ifound southwestfastener.com through yahoo and their prices seemed ok compared to some other sources on the web.

Also can someone provide a little information on performance upgrades and how to get them? I got some insight from "Confused" as follows:

W is Walkerized
D is Dunnized, Dunn right, or Just plain fast
G is Gefferized also awesome from what ive been told.

Where and how do you get these done and are they worth it and also how do they impact the reliability, etc.

Thanks again to all.

John

I know just enough to be dangerous

Check out the "saws out the door" thread. Dennis is trying to move some huskys. He can handle your performance mods too,I'd definately recommend at least a muffler job.Mild performance tuning will actually improve durability,a muffler job will let the saw run much cooler.357xp is a good choice, probably the same one I'd make if I were looking for a "do it all" saw.

John,

Here are the contacts all of which are members of this forum:

'W'
Is the venerable John Walker from Walkers saw shop, its in great white north. He sells Husky's and could Walkerize one brand new and ship it too you ready to go. Here is their website.

'D'
Is the supreme being of hot saws, the sensei, you might say, he would be the Yoda if Dennis was Obi Wan. Where as Rotax Rob is Darth Vader, never mind. Anyways Ken Dunn, can be reached at

[email protected] or 530-589-2744

If I remember right, Ken is in the states, but don’t quote me on it.

'G'
Another major player in the hot saw (wood saw) market. Has the student surpassed the teacher or ahh f@#$ it, they both are having fun doing what they do. I have emailed Dennis about saws and other things; as well, he is a straight shooter and an insightful person. All of these guys are. Anyways Dennis can be reached at

[email protected]

O there is one more 'L' Lambertizing. However, he has bastardized more saws than made run fast. He is more the sidekick than that of a leader. He would be the Jar Jar Binks of Episode I, the screwy robin in the batman series, the clown that always gets the pie in the face, you get what I mean. He tries really hard. I don’t know John Lambert really (AN I hope he can take a joke, boy I hope he can)

All of these guys could help you out. I hope that clears some things up.

Confused,
You must be Luke and that would make me See-Through-Pee-Hole. So who would be Jabba the Hut?

The Farce is strong in this one.:alien:

Doug,

I would more likely be one of those X-wing pilots that are killed.

Luke would be, more than likely yourself, you have learned much. However, I not sure Rotax is your Father. Nevertheless, you are on you way.

Jabba the Hunt um... that’s a tough one. Tundraotto, Yes he would be the obvious choice.

The Emperor is an easy choice, the almighty DARIN who created this place. He is deviously planning to take over the chainsaw world, or at least Internet market advertising.

Yes, I am strong in the farce, very strong indeed.

Who ever said engineers (students too) can’t write (or at least try).

357 modifications

Hello john,
The 357 husky is a great choice to modify. its the only husky saw with a full circle crank and quad loop transfer ports, with the right mods you will get big power increases. like the 372, you will get a 40-45 % power increase. If you want prices or have questions e-mail or call me.
