Thanks for the replies all. The MS 200 seems to be the favorite, from what I hear it can be bought with the rear handle, instead of the top handle?
Thanks again

I have the rear handle. And it truly is a small saw. Try one out. Bring your favorite wood with you. If its new, remember it won't cut nearly as well as when it gets some time on it. woojr

Has everyone forgotten the legendary top handle Stihl 020AV. A saw that remained in Stihl's lineup for more than 30 years until replaced by the MS200.

I sure haven't forgotton them - have about 8 to build into 4 sometime... time.... time...:)

Not trying to be picky.. sure... but the TOP handled 020AV got replaced by the 020T, and then later by the MS200T, and the 020AVP (rear handled version) got replaced (or should I say, the gap got filled) by the MS200 (rear handle).

Ill vote for the 180 also. I have a 14 inch bar running 3/8 chain and have no problem cutting anything up to full bar length. Granted its not a speed demon, but sure is light, and gutsy for its size.

I sell several brands but I would have to go with the Redmax G3800. Awesome saw if broke in correctly!

definately go for the rear handle. Top handle saws are made for professional arborists. So unless you want to climb trees or want yourself to get cut, go for the rear handle. My .02 ct;)

Yes, definetely!

Found a dealer that quoted 475.00 for the MS200. After looking at several small saws, the 200 seems to be a quality saw, alot of money, but I will take good care of it and it will last me for many years. Good investment I think. Thanks for the info

The quote for the MS 200 was a bad quote. The MS200 is not being shipped to the south. BUt is available in the Mid Atlantic. What crap! But I found one in stock in Chatt. Tn. So it will work out in the end.
THanks for the advice
