So husky is excluding the mom and pops of the world to ship saws over the net yet allowing a select few to do just that? Am I understanding. Warranty work is not my issue with this or any purchase. But I have no husky dealer short of a tsc and lowes to choose from so a 395 xp would not be in the cards if not for mail order.

I work in the consumer electronics industry and that is very common, although usually with some restrictions as far as what could be sold. The downside of what has happened with Husky is that too many "big box" and hardware store profile exist to appeal to an independent dealer wanting to sell the whole line of saws. Added to that, Husky wants all their dealers to sell their lawnmowers and other stuff too. They just make it too hard to get "in" to be a dealer, then you lose the "meat and potatoes" sales to the internet. Not much appeal unless you can make a living on bigger saws, and most places you just can't.

The unfortunate downside to "dancing with the devil". Ask many companies who thought selling into Walmart was going to be their saving grace.
