For the Butterfly, you don't even need the velcro, right? All the buckles can be left to the length you like, right? Adjust them to the length you want, make sure it's the right length, then just stitch it down. That oughtta do it.

i like the fly. not too much stretch to it. theblakes works really well w/it. i use this purple 8.5 mil split tail line w/black dots and a green marker thread (i forget what its called. got it @treetools.the core is made of this stuff that looks like carbonfiber). very workable set-up. not only that the fly has gotta be the sexiest rope out there. image is everything-no?

although. i saw a pic on here acouple weeks ago. big pile of ropes all hanked up and sitting right on top was this bad-a$$ all-black line. just greasy lookin' . oooh baby
