I was buying something else on Amazon and came across Silky Sugoi 360 advertised for $52 - said they are being discontinued. I bought them last week and had been meaning to post. When I ordered, it said only 2 left, so I bought them both. They are shipped and should arrive mid-October - think they are coming straight from Asia. Now there is a different seller showing there are 5 available. Normally I buy from TreeStuff, Baileys, Sherrill, or Wesspur...but for $50 savings. Search "Silky Sugoi 360" on Amazon. Good luck!

Hard to see silky discontinuing what is probably one of their most popular saws. As long as they're genuine you did well. I'd be comparing it side by side to a known genuine though, and looking for any minor differences

I agree...I am honestly a little concerned about a fake knock off, but I am pretty sure Amazon will make it right if that is the case. I have 2 of the real deals (plus an extra blade) so I am familiar with what I should expect. Maybe they made a slight change to the handle or clip or something and these are the last of the old ones??? (at least that is my hope!).

I came across them on amazon this spring and bought
a zubat 390 its still listed 49.99 .... Its the only place I could find that size. I think everyone else has the 360 anyhow I got it ..... been using it all summer I limbed up and topped out a 40 ft pine in a customers lawn while he was sleeping. took about 30 min.... if its a knock off well its really good knock off good enough I don't care lol. the only thing that slows it down is pine pitch. I just clean it after evey climb and it hasent seemed to dull yet .... Seems to live up to what everyone says about a silky but at stupid low price compared to the arborist suppliers. I would not hesitate to buy another on amazon.

My two favorite purchases this year and I've bought a bunch of new stuff as I'm still starting up were the silky zubat and the groundskeeper rake worth every penny I think I would cry If I had to do without either of them

I bought the Sugoi 360 from Amazon as well. All Silky saws are about 1/2 price when bought through Amazon. They have a "Japan Store", meaning they carry Japanese inventory. Difference is directions are in Japanese writing. I had to send mine back because I can't read Japanese. Lol.

They came today (shipped from Japan). All indications point to them being legit. They are slightly different than the others I have, but those are a few years old:
*There is a triangle 'loop' at the top/back of the handle...not sure what the point is, but I am pretty sure I will be taking that off.
*The belt loop/strap to hang from saddle is a hard rubber instead of the pleather on the ones I have. Probably an upgrade.
*There is a screw in the handle at the back. Didn't take it apart, but I wonder if the blade goes back that far into the handle???

These are all changes that are shown on other sites.
My old saws look like the pictures on TreeStuff: http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=299
New one looks like these: http://www.silkysaws.com/Silky_Saws/Curved_2/Sugoi-360mm-Handsaw-1373#sthash.Pl2lsNlH.dpbs

Most notable (if you care): the new ones did NOT come with leg straps. Not a problem for me because I don't use those...but if you do you might want to make sure they will be included.
