Does Anybody around here in the midwest have a BIG bucket truck?
80' OR BIGGER!
I have the biggest cotton wood i have ever seen to do, and my truck is only 60'!hmmmmm.... maybe i should hire that helicopter guy thats in the gallery on sherrills website!

Dang, I LOVE climbing the monster trees! They are usually spread out enough to make rigging easy. If you can just let the stuff fly, you can be cutting on one side while your ground crew cleans up the mess you just made on the other side.

But I understand how easily a person can get spoiled by a bucket truck. After a couple years at Davey, I was able to get my bucket to trees even the salesman thought would have to be climbed! But unless you can come up with a 20' platform to park your bucket on, looks like you gotta break out the gaffs and belt. At least you got a bucket to get you 75% of the way up!

yep, thats what im gonna check on today, the local " for hire" crane company wont touch a tree with their equip. but my buddie works at LINKBELT, so im gonna call him

Just put your 24' extension ladder in the bucket for that extra 20' reach. It fits perfectly in the bottom and you can run a ratcheting strap around it for extra security. You can use your pole saw to work the controls. OK, I'm kidding. Don't try this at home.

the thing is over an old river house that was just remodeled......why do they always wait until after there house is done?... the ladder in the bucket, i have a 40' extension ladder, i wonder if that'll work..... i dont have any ratchet straps handy but i do have bungiee cords!.... any comments on how i should fix it to the bucket

we have did that or use to changing light bulbs. Ropes work.
Just make sure your boom does not leak down.

If you cannot get a crane, buy a GRCS. You will have the tre down in no time. It will handle huge chunks.

Your not that far away, you may be able to get Greg good to come out to tutor you for a modest fee.

Or contract with me, I'll bring one down to demo for you.

You ought to J-B Weld the ladder to the bucket- that way you'll always have it ready and that J-B Weld is strong stuff. :D ( or should I say  )

i dont think he (beeboo) will do it. he probaly only tackels hard stuff. the gcrs is somthing i didnt think about. john paul what would it cost to get you down here?
