hello. Just got a new nap1400 wood stove and new to heating with wood. It says it should run 5-600* how do you or what is the best way of getting the burn temp. Single wall pipe with one ninety into the wall. Stove in basement.

Find a flue temp gage at the local farm supply or stove shop and follow the directions on where to mount it, Mine was 12" above the stove top mounted on the flue pipe, but I put mine on the stove top instead because I have dbl. wall pipe. Close enough:)

Im not familiar with that stove but isnt there an adjustment for air intake. The temp wont always be 500/600 it will vary throughout cycle.:greenchainsaw:

the only time i c those temps is at full blast, i use hand held infrared. single wall pipe will reach 320 and thats bout it, it is rated for 2000 so im not worried. pipe temps below 230 u start to get cresote. no big deal, i just brush it once a month. buy yerself a brush and rod kit, u will need it.
