And no, I don't have the same beliefs about freedom for any English citizen (or anyone who isn't a US citizen) as I do for myself. I believe in constitutionally protected freedoms, for myself and my countrymen. We have plenty of freedoms that you don't have in your country, and I frankly don't care what freedoms you do or don't have, as the power to change that for yourself rests in your hands.

The foreigner was here a week and had a bunch of posts in essentially two threads- in this one he acted like a know it all, bashed Trump and treated all of us like trash, and in the other he appeared to be marketing a Bulgarian chainsaw as if it were made in Germany and owned by Metabo/Hitachi. When called out as anyone would expect, he plays the innocent victim, throws insults, and shows no hint of humility, no sign of social awareness.

I'm just going to put him on my ignore list because he should be on other social media promoting true freedom for the British/Tommy Robinson, and denouncing the biggest U.K. political scandal in the last century- the coverup by the U.K. gov't of the Paki rape gangs.

Back on subject, wood burning appliances built after xx date, all have to be equipped with a catalytic combustor in the lower flue and be apprised that when your present appliance wears out or you replace it with a new one, it will have the combustor installed per EPA mandate.

My Drolet 2000 stove has no cat in it and it’s EPA certified . I bought it several years ago and it’s still sold today

In as much as I'm not well versed in what is required, all I did was to state the EPA mandate. I don't burn wood for heat, never have and our supplemental heat is via 2 pellet stoves which don't require a catalytic combustor at all and are about 85% efficient. Particulate emissions (smoke) is almost nill and they produce little to no creosote. In actual use, they produce CO and a dry ash, Not being a greenie, far as I'm concerned, CO isn't a terrible emission as plant life requires CO for photosynthesis anyway.

So long as any manufacturer can meet or exceed the Federally mandated emissions requirements, I guess they don't have to presently but, if the emissions mandates get more stringent, they may very well have to modify their designs to comply.

Exactly what happened to farm and utility tractors. To meet the EPA requirements they had to adopt more complex emissions control systems just like automobile manufacturers did. Older non emissions units are still in use (I have a couple) but if I was to replace them with new, they would have to be emissions correct opr they could not even be sold.

Do I like the requirements, certainly not but the way it is, is the way it is.

Secondary burn stoves are as efficient or better than cats stoves in removing particulates from the exhaust . My stove only smokes a bit of smoke when you add wood and only for a short time . 99% of the time there is no smoke .
