if it has 15 rims, 31-11.50s fit great without going big as heck

if 16s, 265-70 sits it up a bit over everyone else

color, lol, mine is silver with black pinstripe, and regular cab, and 4x2, and v-6! carreful what u wish for!

Thanks for the info Ralph. Those specs are good to know. The people working at the tire place tend to give me the deer in the headlights look when I ask what size tires I can put on without mods. BTW, your inbox is full.

Mine is a 94 F150 XLT Regular Cab V-6 4X2 with 206,000 miles in Smurf Blue. Never liked the color, but the dealer couldn't move it when the model year changed 12 years ago and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It's been the best truck I've ever owned.

rb - Keep the rear wheel wells rinsed off in the winter...salty slush will collect on the chrome trim strips. I didn't and have rust on each side.

Don't really have to worry much about that here. We don't get much snow, and when we do everything shuts down anyway so I don't need to drive. I will keep it in mind though in case of snow.

So it's been 6 months that I've had the truck. Time for an oil change (3K miles already! ). What have you guys had the best luck with in the 5.0s? Not towing anything, just driving it to work and back.

Ralph, where you at? As soon as the truck gets out of the body shop I'm getting 31" tires. Looking for something that will do great on the highway, and decent off road if need be. I really have to hunt for non-paved roads around here.

I've had wider 32" and 31" MT tires on your body style f150 and they will catch the curl in the front bumper when your trying to turn sharply. I know people who have trimmed their front bumper to avoid this, but i'm not sure if its something you'd want to do.

I'll be getting tires that are better for the road (less aggressive) so I don't think it'll be a problem. Maybe a 31" X 10.5" X 15". How wide are the ones you had rub? I really don't care to cut any off the bumper. The bumper will be brand spankin new!

I can't remember off hand. If you look at my other thread (which is probably hard to see) the tires I currently have on the bronco were the 32's I had on my f150 that rubbed. The tires on the 78 are 31's and I had those on the bronco at one time and they rubbed also. You will probably be all right with narrower non agressive tires. I wasn't ever too keen on cutting the bumper either.

If I lived somewhere with gravel and dirt roads (much less a place to go off-roading!) I would get a more off-road tire. Can't justify the extra expense, and I like a smooth ride on the highway.

Yeah I agree I actually live on a dirt road lol. The aggressive tires also have a bit of road noise too.

I grew up where gravel and dirt roads were the norm. I'm become quite city-fied!

I have a few buddies that have made the same transition. However after years pass they tend to slowly filter back to environments similar to what they grew up in.

I'm afraid I'm rather locked in here. All the in-laws are local. I'm content to go visit the country now and then. I do like the conveniece of the city at times, and have learned to tolerate the faster pace. It's all relative though. Once you've lived in the DC area, everywhere else is Mayberry!
