When running ling 36+ inch saws in frozen wood, you may get a bit of steam out of frozen wood. It will look like smoke, but it's just steam.
No steam in mine but I smoked all the chips and were having paint chips tonight for desertWhen running ling 36+ inch saws in frozen wood, you may get a bit of steam out of frozen wood. It will look like smoke, but it's just steam.
I built a set (11.2x24) for my tractor this past year. Ended up making them 5 link so the overall length would come out right. Used 1/4" for the outer chain, and 5/16 for the cross links. Cut 5/16 links, split and rewelded them to join the cross links to the 1/4" chain. It was a bit of a pain, but it saved me quite a bit of cash. Used quick links to join the ends when installing on the tractor, and some cheap ratchet straps for tensioners. The've worked well so far, but I also haven't really needed them this season since its been so warm.I get that. 2 link run smoother. Less gap between cross links. Heavier. More expensive. They both have their place.
With a side order of rubber.Lots of diesel.
