All i do to test the clutch is find a nice hill

and mash it in high gear. If it does not slip, I mash it in a lower gear, and another lower gear. If it does not slip, it is golden. Mine slips right now, but I don't have the $$$ to replace it so it will get a transplant out of one of my parts trucks.

I thought they began teaching english grammar and punctuation in about the 4th to 6th grade? You seem to have missed that class. this is a thread started by a competent arborist and his valid concern for the well being of trees in general when the media with all its vast influence unwisely advocates an improper foolish method to test a car's clutch.

You come out of nowhere spouting your rhetoric and insulting other arborists who have been on here awhile, and who have earned respect. you are not qualified to address the issue of tree health, and clearly cannot even frame a sentence correctly.

You, a car mechanic ??, are just a fart in the wind to a climber who does not give a rats a$$ about your opinion. you are entitled to your opinion, go give it to your mechanic buddies down at the bar, we don't need it or want it.
