I guess someone says you can get them from Walbro for 6 to 9 bucks that is news to me.

Which HD carb? I need the rest of the numbers or the application

Thanks for all the info every one posted. I have to start checking prices on everything I order before I tell them to go ahead and get it.

Lake, goes to show that most dealers are looking after thier own interests first, then the customer. Dealers in my place just act like that.
gotta love the internet sales :) .

I don't think they were trying to rip me off, I asked for a carb kit & he went and got the number for it off the computer. He probably didn't know about the vendor kits, at least I hope he didn't and sold me the Stihl one for big $.

Yep.. the vendor kits aren't on the IPLs.. they have to look in the back pages of the dealer support manuals.

I've used oem kits from Walbro,Zama,Tillotson plus the generic brand. To be quite honest on some is this, say we say "well used" stuf I own and work on,the aftermarket kits seem to work better.

I usually buy about a half dozen at a time from MFG.It seems however that I have missplaced a whole box full of them somewhere in that mess of junk I have collected ,humbug.

We pay less from a Walbro distribuator.

K10-HD is all you need.

I read this as retail and they could be bought direct from the manufacturer.
I am tired and quite possibly misunderstood.

I'd like to see full kits from anywhere that retail for 2 or 3 dollars. I suspect that those are certain wholesale kits and usually diaphram only.

While we talking about carb kits what do I need to do when installing the parts/ how far do I take it apart? Do I just take it apart, clean it and put it back together. Anyone have a write up on this? I'm a :newbie: when it comes to carb work. Thanks

This is what it is coming down to. Everyone post dealer cost on all items so everybody that attempts to make a small profit can be viewed as trying to rip people off.

I guess I am foolish attempting to sponser here.

All this info is a key click away on Google. I just found that page. It's not where I buy from. There are hundreds of online places to buy kits from.

Baileys sells for $8.95, I sell (counter only) for $12.50. Guess I'm ripping guys off, or at least the 10 a year I sell.

It is a strange business to be in right now. Witnessed an argument at the counter on this dealer trying to rip off a guy on an Oregon aftermarket starter. The guy swears he can buy it at the dealer cost right from Oregon themselves but I haven't found it. The dealer said the same thing I would.......buy it from them then.
