What I'd like from an online seller is the ability to order ONE carb kit at a reasonable price and have the "shipping" be the price of a first class stamp and envelope.. say 50 cents? not the $5-10 "minimum charge that gets applied...

Every time I need ONE odd-ball kit (like the Walbro WYJ I need now), I have a choice of waiting for an order consolidation OR paying the big shipping charges... sucks....

Yeah including baileys(no offense). Their lowest shipping rate is 7.95 for a carb kit. Total the prices and its about 17 dollars. You pretty much have to wait till your plannin on puttin a bigger order through or you're gonna be payin a ton for a small item. Evan

Order consolidation. :( Remember those bar tip rivets I needed the part # for - like __weeks__ ago? Me neither, I forgot all about them until earlier today.

Called the dealer. Dealer still hasn't placed the order with Stihl yet. Morons :)taped: dealer, not Stihl). Kid was clueless.....

It stands to reason if you just order one carb kit the shipping will seem outragious. At Bailey's,for example,I just order a couple of hundred dollars worth at a time.It may seem like a lot but you are going to use the stuff at some time or another.

When I feel the need to order stuff,I make a call to two local tree services and combine the orders .72 driver chains seem to be a real hot item, the boys are a little tough on them.

This is what it is coming down to. Everyone post dealer cost on all items so everybody that attempts to make a small profit can be viewed as trying to rip people off.

I guess I am foolish attempting to sponser here.

I think it's quite normal for dealers to make gross margins of 200 to 300 % on parts. I have no problem paying 12$ for a kit, even if the dealer can buy them at 4$. He's got to do the paperwork, handling and stock has a financial cost. I am more p@ssed with a dealer selling a customer a 32$ kit if there's a valid alternative for 1/3 of that price.

As for the high shipping cost for internet sales, I think it's more related to the handling cost than the actual shipping. There's as much labor involved to pack 1 or 5 kits. Like Al, I now group my needs and order a few parts at the time for my collector saws. Not the most convenient, but you can' have it all.

Hmmm... So you think chainsaws are bad... Needed a Mituni carb kit today for a Kawasaki jet ski... Called all over.. found one... $49.95!!

Thought I might as well replace the K&N air filter - NOT!!!! $189.95 Damn...

Jet ski has sat with gas for 7 years.. needs all new rubber everything.. but tomorrow she'll run...
