Today's work fell through. No big deal, lined up another job to finish out the week. Plenty to do around the house and shop. The rest of the week's work was out of town, so I was planning on taking the wife's subaru and letting her run my truck. Figured I'd throw some big heavy maple rounds in the back of the truck for traction (she works in town, bit of a storm rolling in). Couldn't pick one up, so I tried to roll it to the tailgate and hump it in from there. Rolled that swell butt piece until it hit something under the snow and flopped over, catching my hand between it and a steel fence post. Inside of finger got pushed outside of finger. Kinda like a hot dog that burst when overcooked on a fire.

Doc in the morning, try and saw again Thursday. Sometimes I forget that you need all of your body to saw. Take care of yourselves out there.....even when yer not working. As my cutting pardner said when I called him, " You culled yourself, ya ####ing cull"............Yes I did......... - happy new year - Sam

Thanks man, sucks to loose a day of work over a damn finger!! Too much crap hanging out of my finger to shoot the dice though - take care- nice pics in the falling thread - Sam

LOL, it is. Feels like I have an elephant standing on my finger - Sam

An keep it above your heart. It will throb a lot less. I have rigged a sling to hold my hand up while I slept. Lol

Hey Sam...now'll you'll have a "weather finger".. That sucker will tell you every time it's going to rain. Heal up soon.

And what Joe said about keeping it elevated in a sling is good advice. You might have to sleep sitting up tonight...that finger will start to throb when you lay down.

Thanks all. I think I'll live, lol. It ain't bad unless it's a broken femur or back.

I tend not to think about hurting myself when I'm not working, but it doesn't take much to screw up a work week when you have to saw.

Back to work tomorrow. Filing is gonna be interesting, lol.

Take care of yourselves - Happy Holidays - Sam

I already have two of those, I guess a third won't hurt to have around for good measure. Might have to go apply to be a weather forecaster at the TV station.....I'm probably more accurate, lol. - Sam

I'm sorry to hear about your finger, that has to smart real good. I guess it could have been worse, you could have been hit in the groin.

THAT is worse. I've had to drop the trousers a couple time and make sure I still had everything. - Sam

Cheap accident!

Yeah, but the doc was pretty proud of her gauze. Hate going in for this kind of stuff, but the wife wasn't going to let me off the hook on this one - Sam

Heal up pard....kick your feet up and drink some whiskey :D

I will ;)...We're gonna get after it again tomorrow. Hopefully you and I can get after that other job next week. I'm ready to get away from camp and sleep in my bed instead of that damn car, lol!

I've got some of those... from when I tried to take 2 fingers and my thumb off my left hand when I was a teeneager. Got it caught up in some farmin' machinery... :D

Heal up Sammy!

Thanks Gary and Nate. Hope you guys (and all the other good folks on here) have a great New Year.

Nate- Went back to work yesterday. I think I'm gonna cut this damn finger off, always in the way!!!
