i only saw this tree for the first time about a year ago. the signs i took pics of could be easily older than that and one of those shtty cuts looks very recent. i wouldnt doubt if its less than 154' crown now. still 79' tall tho, maybe 80' now and diameter still beats treaty oak



Yeah, the treaty comes in at 25 feet circumference and 70 feet in height, while the spread is 145'. I don't think the 154' spread looks accurate on the tree in your photo. You're probably right, it had a bigger spread before a storm ripped it apart. It could be those rips were there before the cuts were made. You guys need to remeasure the canopy and have a fun climb.
