I have a 266xp that will be running a 20 bar. Although not a newbie to saws its been a few year since I have really ran one for any length of time. Just wonder what chain you guys would recommend..mostly for fire wood (juniper and the odd oak) and probably some work with falling and bucking ponderosa pines.

3/8, full-complement, chisel, maybe semi-chisel

Get at least one loop each of Stihl RS and RM (not RM2) for your comparison with others.

Because of where you are and the type of gound you may work on I would go with skip tooth, you may damage the teeth frequently when working out of town.

I really like Stihl chain. I run full comp, 3/8 .050 (33RS) for my 20 & 24 inch bars. This is round ground so I can use my benchtop chain sharpener to sharpen. Can't afford the square grind machine yet.
