Son picked up a catalog at a trade show for The Charlton Company, makers of chain, bars, sprockets etc. Never heard of them and a search here brought up nothing. They have a very large selection of different bars and chain constructions, kinda mind boggeling for somebody like me who dabbles in saws. Anybody know anything about them?

Are you sure maybe it wasn't Carlton and not Charlton. Plenty of info here about Carlton, never heard of Charlton.

Yes, duh! no wonder my search came up with nutten. Tail is between legs now.

I have used the Carlton bars and chains for over 20 years and love them, the bars have the external grease hole on the
tips and I have never wore out a sprocket. Their chains are tough don’t blow apart a little easier to sharpen not as hard as a Stihl which tends to burns the cutter
tooth when grinding. Great product
which some was sold by Bailey’s Forrest’s supplies under woodman. I believe they also made Windsor bars I hope we don’t lose them completely to Oregon

I like Carlton chain. I do find a light lowering of the depths out the gate to be advantageous, but that is for 50cc+ saws.

It used to be pricey comparatively, but now is similar or cheaper than Husqy/Stihl/Oregon
