Oooooooooooh! Coooooooool!!! Nice for those delicate pruning jobs. LOL :)

NICE!

only difference in those and mine is my pads at the top are red, i believe the pads are still carbon fiber. but maybe not, what did they run you?

£200......they were about £25 more than the aluminium, thats around about 40-45 dollars i guess

While they are the same shape, the Carbon Fiber Geckos are much lighter than the red geckos, as well as any other spikes. Unless someone figures out how to attach a gaff to a helium balloon, I don't expect to see a lighter set of climbers anytime soon. :)

DANG!!!! I've been holdin' out for a new set of gaffs until those came out. Can we get 'em here in the U.S. of A. yet? Sean Larkin, Help a brother out!!! :blob2: :blob2: :blob2: :blob2:

I know they're not going to make it into our 05 master catalog, but I do think they'll be available stateside sometime this summer. I'll try to find out more.

how do you get on with your geckos tinman?

first i put on my right one then...... actually not quite sure what your asking. i love them they dont roll around my leg, they dont cause any pain anywhere on my leg and basically feels like i'm wearing my sheet rock stilts only they are heavier, real solid is what i'm getting at. i feel very secure in the tree. much much much better than my partners kleins he insists are tried and true blah blah blah.

My mom would say, "Your not going to use those are you? They're too nice!" I'm looking for the 'envy' smilie but I can't seem to find it.

well i got to use them for about an hour today....really light and comfy, could hardly feel them on. the only thing is i need to get used to the gaffs as they are at an unusal angle and a lot longer than what ive been used to for the past 7 or so years.

i've been climbing ice with carbon fiber tools for a couple of years now. carbon fiber rules......sweet looking gaffs.

thanks boston......i wondered exactly how strong they were....i will be treating them more carefully than my steel pair thats for sure

the only thing you have to wory about is knicking them. small knicks are no biggy. just becareful you don't hit your left gaff with your right spike as you walk(and vice versa) and all will be fine.
