Will any of you be wandering out into the winter landscape, and selecting that most inportant of christmas symbols, or will you go to a tree lot and get a scrony, dead, overpriced tree?

I am once again going out and getting a nice southwestern pine, or maybe a spruce. I have a really expensive and sharp axe to do the job, but I am taking the little ol' 372XP with me just in case! The wife thinks the husky is a little excessive, but I belive in being prepared!!-Matt

If you need the 372XP, you are going to need a loader and semi tractor-trailer to bring the tree home. And a crane to set it.

A handsaw is perfect for anything up to 10" diameter, which is probably a lot larger than what will fit in the house. Probably faster and cleaner than an axe, also. And it's a lot easier to tote through the woods and back to the truck while dragging a tree.

All Christmas trees over 3" in diameter should be knotched with the reverse Humbolt, then with a winter wedge driven in the backcut, a shrill sounding "TIMBER" should echo thru the woods to alert all others of the impending bounce of the Fir.

-Gypo that thing is a beauty!!!, by the way what is it?

-Tree climber, I was not in search of advice, I am an insecure hetrosexual male, that likes to flaunt mass amounts of power for thrills,(ie. the 71 olds race car, the airplane, the 372xp, the jet ski) so yes I could use a hand saw, or take the 3000 Echo, thw Poulan not so wild thing, or the 036 out to the woods,or maybe I could even push the tree down by hand, but what fun would that be? Also the axe is tradition, its a dedicated christmas axe, that I got when I was dirt freakin poor. many years later when I was not so dirt freakin poor I built a nice case for it, inscribed it, and had it chromed. Every year we use the laser etcher and state the year, type and where we got the tree, for memory sake.-Matt

i came up in mill hill[waxhaw] city in the old south. actually i lived just accros the tracks ,but i ran with them a lot. anyway i never knew anybody used anything but a nice cedar tree, until later when they started selling spruce for chrismas tree. at the time we just couldnt believe any body thot that was a real christmas tree.
now i dont think the daughter would put up with an ole cedar tree. times change:)
someday im gonna have one again tho.

No, it's an 090av. :)

While I buy trees from the local parking lot, I do always trim them with a chainsaw. Last year the 88cc SXL-925 got the honor of cutting 4" pine. This year we'll see what 110cc worth of Swede saw does. :D

Come on down

In the surburban areas of Los Angeles they grow trees under the power lines since that is all they can get a permit to do.
I think it would really cause allot of heads to turn to see and hear that 090 running somewhere in the rows of trees.

At least the LA helicopters can't hover directly above since the power lines are in the way.

Actually we go out to the outskirts of town and find a charity tree farm and cut one down there. We make a morning of it.

I take a 028 with a 12 inch bar and I still get "the look" from the people in the Lexus and Acura's.

Jeez, I just started my KD 372 at the house yesterday and about 50 of the white pine I planted 7 years ago just fell over and played dead. Guess I`m in the Christmas tree business this year! Russ

i think i'm going to use my 066G this year with a 20'' bar:D i would use a 16'' but i don't have one at the moment:rolleyes:
