Hi Dennis, thanks for the picture you sent yourself today. Are you gonna be alright? What model of saw is that your holg?
John

No problem John...I had just gotten home from a gig with the band and needed to cut some trees that the wind had knocked down..that is my little 034 deisel that I got supercharged...someone was just snapping pics...thought you would like it...

Ok..so after being in Sequim this weekend..we did confirm Hotsaw Bill and " American Maid" the Ford V6 with nitrous injection..I also got a look at a very well run show, and got some new events lined up...a couple of relay races...a felling competition...I am also seeing what I can do about getting the NWLMRA to come up...that would be the Northwest Lawnmower Racing Association...they are a blast to watch!!

Will be making some regular updates from now on...remember I need hotel bookings asap for those that are coming!!

Hey Dennis ya lil creep, i like the idea of the lawnmower racing, just one more attraction will draw others. I can see Fish and Walt runnin neck and neck with their lawnmowers. And how about a chainsaw toss?
Anyway, I will kick anyones butt in a race to see who can block, split and pile one full cord of that funky lookin spruce you call knotless clear wood.
P.S., can you send me a copy of the video that Carl took when Robert and I were there in Clearwater? I want to sell them on Ebay.
Ole Single Jack John

Johnboy...I would love to sell you a copy..lol...I now have the Sequim Wa. video as well... its a pretty good video..not quite as good as I hoped...but you can see American Maid make a couple of cuts as well as the Predator cut, and the Rotax cutting...and me blowing my cuts...lol.. Robert and I will be making some copies of all of them together...the hotsaw video, the pre clearwater and the sequim show...I will send you one out...

I just talked to some chainsaw carvers the other day and we may have a few of them showing up as well...noone has been in contact with me regarding the lawnmower races yet...

and yes..I will try to track down a piano...

Chainsaw Events

Ok boys and girls..this is my plan for saw events...it is not written in stone, and I am open to suggestions...

Stock= kinda stock saw..modified mufflers ok...NO Art Martin chain!! (john)..Walkerized saws ok...Greffardized...Dunnized all ok...

Modified=Saws with pipes...ie: expansion chambers..race chain allowed ie: Art Martin chain

Then I am thinking of each in 5 and under class...6 and under class...then an open class (single cyl, pull start) if there are enough saws...and then of course, everyones favorite the Unlimiteds!!

The other thing I thought we would do is each entrant pay 5 bucks for each event, then we split the money 60-30-10 for winners...First day is elimination to make it to the final round on Sunday...take say the top 50% of people to the finals or the top 5?

The other events will be axe throwing, directional tree felling, relay races and the coveted chainsaw toss...

Let me know what you think guys...

clearwater

Dennis, don't try to satisfy all the contestants, its your show tell us how the game is going to be played. I have done a few shows and everone wants, their special event. Do your show your way and you won't suffer burn-out. I just got my ticket and am looking foward to representing the California Competition Loggers. ************************************** Where Sugarpine 7' thru is not uncommon

Jon, it will be great to finally meet you and Mike...its too bad Ken prolly wont make the trip...

I think I have the events down now...I will post a list soon...

I started measuring out the site this week...got it mowed...going o pick up two log truck loads of wood this weekend and will start setting up....she is going to be a long month...lol...

I will post some pics as we go along...

Well ...went and got the first load of logs...looking good for go...start peeling them tonight....

I have decided that we are going to do a points system for all the logging events, (excluding the modified saws) for an all-round logger....points will be awarded based upon the finish of each event...and at the end of Sunday the person with the most points wins...this means the person who enters the most events...has the best chance of winning....I am doing this to encourage my local loggers to participate...so far everyone seems to like the idea...

Our modified saws will be running by themselves...So Johnboy, you do have a chance to actually win something...and I cant wait to see you in the pond..:)

Hey Dennis, how'd that 111 turn out? Any photos from the trial runs?

Got the photos of mine around here somewhere...

Dennis, looks like you got it all together. Sounds like a great weekend. Wish I had gotten on this site a lot sooner....maybe I would be attending. Who knows, maybe next year!!!! Hope eveything goes good.

Good Luck, Jeff

Hey Robert, when you make thoses cut is it thru the length of the log, as in tip to butt or is it like blocking firewood? Do I need my axe?
John
