Currently at the NRCS and well bored. I'd like to take advantage and use my master's of forestry before I am too old... I see Davey is hiring a few Consulting Utility Foresters in the area. I've heard good things about them but I am curious too see what others say. I assume the job is fairly secure? Pay decent? Most importantly, field work? Would I be making a mistake leaving a federal job for them is the main question?

I've heard good things about them...buy have also heard they periodically try to shake off older/long term employees to save money. But that may be from someone who was underperforming...
I assume this is with DRC?
Job satisfacion is a huge deal... I've given up pay and "security" to enjoy going to work everyday. I had a State job. I do make more now...but that wasn't the driving factor when I left. Everyone asked "what about health insurance and retirement?". Those are things to consider, but aren't hurdles that can't be overcome!
