Don't it make you sick?

Did an estimate last week for an asian couple that wants to remove 10 HUGE mature Oaks and Poplars. 70- 90ft. Why? I asked.
Don't like to clean up leaves and the you can't see the house clearly from the street!!!! These people obviously have the $$$ for someone to cleanup the leaves but they'd rather cut down the trees, have more grass and so the Jones's (Parks?) can see their house that looks the same as every other in the neighborhood

well dark maybe the best you can do is to see that the wood gets the highest possible use.

todd, when people tell me they want a view from the street, I tell them that most homebuyers do not want a view TO the street, or the unimpeded noise, stink, glare, etc. I show them stuff like this:

http://www.treesaregood.com/treecare/tree_benefits.asp
and
http://www.treesaregood.com/treecare/tree_values.asp

and they get a great price on pruning and some removals to allow view through to key sightlines.

But it doesn't always work; that's when these boots they get a-walkin'...

Ouch....does he know the story behind these awesome trees? Living fossil and all...none existed anywhere except in a remote area of China where they were discovered in the 1930's or thereabouts..and now have been propogated all over.

Talk him into a nice 20-25% thinning job..and guess at what an appraised value would be...a 24 inch specimen can easily reach $10,000.
