They're removing it but I am surprised that is all they did with a spot for the crane AND a big bucket. I think the 20 g must be for the milling etc included?

REal nice picts Pink Floyd and great story picts. Can we see the copy on the one leaflet when you get back? How come no picts of the removal and equipment? Can't wait to see the vid.

It looks like the tree is still thriving despite the ridiculous cut backs earlier. Why are they removing it? Decay? Sometimes trees like this get removed in my town when dormant for obvious reasons and then they widen a road or something.

I was under the impression that the tree was scheduled to be removed on the 18th. I guess they started early. I can't see it costing that much to mill a tree but then again it is probably to large for any mill to handle.

gotta be some metal in there too being on a street corner and all.

Oh, glad to see that. I'm not taking a day off from work for that. LOL

Thats a morning worth of rigging from a bucket, and done deal.

Oh well.

At first i thought it was the ROW work we see in the partial removal shots. But that does not look right, maybe they ran out of sunlight and could not make it out tow days in a row?

Looks like it was dropping deadwood from the tips for a while on what's left.

Thats all thats left of it??? I didn't know it was cut recently. Can't believe they are charging 20 g's for that.

I know! I was shocked when I got there, I don't know if the tree service was spooked by their price being reviled and started the job to the point of no return or if they just are avoiding the huge crowd Monday morning. Tree looked very stable leaves me with questions like did the land owner want it removed but needed a way to not have their house egged for the rest of their life?

That's a good possibility because the wood IS going to be milled and distributed.

Thank you, Can you re explain that I don't understand. No pictures of the equipment because I went there on Friday and its not being removed until Monday. I was expecting to see it as it was in the news photos with 1 of the 3 major limbs with branches off it removed. But they removed 2/3 limbs obviously before Friday not sure when (it will be reviled in the DVD)

Oh it is! From the ground, from the trunks crotch, from every branch on the stinking tree! I don't understand it to be honest unless they think that the DED is going to just run through the tree unstoppably no matter what, but still who cares if its that thriving? I guess in 2008 white lines appeared under the bark showing that the DED has progressed more than any other 14 bouts? I think someone could have taken Frank place...

I'll be going back Monday morning for the take down, I have to leave MA at 4am. The DVD will take quite a while to be complete while all the old photos of Herbies history are collected and I get the proper permissions to distribute (anyone help with that?).

Put it this way your coming from where I'm coming from and in a lifted jeep it costed me $50 in gas and $10 in tolls, $20 for the person to drive out there. And I'm doing it again Monday so this DVD has better be worth it I was already rushed the first time and pissed off that they already removed 2/3 of it so I can't get the shots I want. Now the time line will be off.

Wtf

So today's the 18th... guy told me last night from the tree company hell over high water trees coming down today... So I leave at 3am in the middle of a huge New England blizzard take a 3 hour drive (that took 5 1/2 hours) and we spun out and lost control on the highway and went sideways over the median and got stuck at like 5am. Made it there by 9am and the tree was untouched called the ahoel back and he said oh well it was on the news at 6am I was like well I left at 3am thanks a lot. So TOMORROW morning at 6am (is int that disturbing the peace?) its suppose to come down and I have no way there a 3rd time...

Now THATS something I'm good at. Marketing videos in really high quality. Maybe trade for some bucket work on my delicate old growth trees? (I'm NOT an Arborist and I don't have a bucket truck)

Sounds good drop me a PM with some contact info and we will brainstorm, my work cant be done until spring but I'm assuming you'll be wanting some winter work footage.

On the way up to Maine in this hell the news crew caught me at a pit stop quite a bit off guard we will say:

Sounds like he may be getting something out of it.

Love to get somebody to film some footage for my website that knows what they are doing. I can provide a round trip airline ticket and beyond that ? My wife is retired airline emp. and we get buddy passes.

But I on the other hand would rather film in the spring, in leaf with the sun shining and a lot of smiling faces on crew and HO.

i'll send you a pm tomorrow after i talk to the boss about it.

you drove up there through that for nothing twice? bold.

Hell yeah I did, I dont even have a car I payed someone twice to bring me to make a film that was a total failure. You have no idea how hard of a project this was between the ####### and the weather.

Yeah he made off like a bastard and was so rude. That's something we can work on, the longer we wait the better my equipment gets as anything. PM me with details at some point.

you still want in on doing some footage of our crew PFE? you are for sure going to want to call my boss.

you gonna get paid for it too, kid. lol

Yeah I'm down, I'll get in contact sometime this week. I would like to make a few upgrades before I do any semi-pro work. I honestly just want someone to help me with my trees top to bottom I just don't have the tools. I'm extremely concerned about my largest acer rubrum needing cabling or maybe even a post from the ground the limb is so big.

I will be looking forward to seeing what you do with Justin's biz. I have all kind of ideas that are out of the norm in websites I have seen for my filming. Like I said ....I think it would be a great niche business to go around filming people at their job for their websites (not just tree work) and do a prof. production. There are so many garbage quality videos out there.

I also thought it might be a great business or slow time endeavor to film a generic removal, pruning etc. job for business to just give as an example of what is done and it doesn't even have to be them doing it. Have them send you there company logo shirt or just have a shirt with a big tree on it.... Just a thought.
