Take a look at the Tsumura bars. They still have riveted (and not glued) bars. Thanks for letting me know! What Oregon bar that they sell now would be comparable to the pro lite?

when looking in the rail you can see glue or epoxy or whatever they use to stick them together.

I have heard from Nate @fordf150 that the glued bars were problematic. I think that the main issue is that if they get hot due to lack of oil or cutting with a dull chain that they will delaminate. Rivets won't do this.Has anyone had a issue with these 'bonded' bars delaminating? Or any other issues?
I know that some of this 'adhesive' holds aircraft together, holds signs up over Interstate highways, . . .

The laminated bars are usually spot welded.Rivets won't do this.
My dad's 445 came with a laminated Husky-labeled bar, it was used until the paint was long gone and the rails and nose spur were shot with no issues. I think it was about 10-15 years old when it was replaced, fyi. I believe an old 3-rivet tipped 36 inch Oregon bar I drilled out for a mill the other day was laminated too, and while the tip was rusted solid when I got to it the rest of the bar is solid and structurally sound. The laminated bars are usually spot welded.
But they also have issues: more flexible, broken / sheared welds, rust between layers, etc.
I don’t sell any bars, but I would be interested in hearing specifics from any users, as well as how Oregon handles any warranty claims.
I have one, but very little use.

I had sent an email to Oregon and they did verify that the versacut is the replacement for the pro lite model. I would imagine your backyard customers wouldn’t mind it as it’s pretty inexpensive and probably would handle occasional use just fine.Interesting topic since iam just in the process of starting to stock Oregon bars in my saw shop. Trying to decide what I want to stock.
Mostly backyard firewood cutters around these parts. A few that get used commercially.
I have a few old stock pro-lites and was wondering today which new bar replaces it.

Do you stihl have any of those pro lite bars? DO25 is what I'm searching for.Interesting topic since iam just in the process of starting to stock Oregon bars in my saw shop. Trying to decide what I want to stock.
