The clean up continues months after our little storm. I have 2 uprooted trees on a hillside to remove, stump has to be cleared off and cut up and removed by hand as theres no access on site. aside from matock, axe, handsaw, spade and chainsaw, any one got any good tricks to doing this fun fun fun job?

Water blaster sounds like a possibility but messy!

An Australian firm introduced a stumpgrinder powered by a chainsaw motor several years ago. I don't know what became of the company but Husqvarna marketed a stumper created by mounting a carbide toothed cutter wheel to a 272 and strapping it in a little wheeled cart. Without those I reccomend taking an old bar and several old but sharp chains, your hand tools, large quantities of fluids and a resolute attitude. Curse and sweat.;)

Instead of water, maybe compressed air.

Then use carbide chains to do some of the cutting.

A number of the companies here have made their air excavation tools from common plumbing supplies and pnuematic quick couplers.
