Do I need an Oiler?

I have put together a 72" BG Professional bar on a 395XP with ripping chain to cut the slabs out of some forked logs. The bar will be fully buried - is there a way to add an oiler on the other end without adding a stinger handle too?

Are you freehanding or using a milling attachment?

Freehanding on the saw so i need to find a way to get oil to the other end of the bar without putting on a attachment. Dunno if that is possible I am jest learning the ropes with this chainsaw milling.

Not sure here. Ive never seen an auxillary oiler on anything other than a milling attachment.

that is a hell of a bar for a 395, hope u got a plan for holding that thing steady...and i hope u have a feather touch to keep it moving. not gonna be able to put an oiler on a fully buried bar

The 395 is capable of putting out a lot of oil. If the bar has a greasable tip, just grease it after ever two cuts or so.

It won't hurt for sure, but not sure that's the issue Jacob - I bet not much oil is making it around the tip, so the cutting side is bone dry. Milling is rough on bars/chains.
