Don't know a bout the willow but when we were choosing a spot to bore a well for land irrigation the guy turned up with a tube of 1/8" oxy acetylene welidng rods he took out 2 & bent them 90 degrees at approx 4" inches from one end he walked round with his rods one in each hand & after 10/15 minutes or so stood & shouted us over he said drill were I'm standing & at between 40& 45 ft you'll strike water this we did & struck water when the pump was installed it took 42 ft of pipe that will be 20 years ago next month & it still supplies us.Well if you cut a willer twig and hold it right, she'll tell yee whar water is; most old wells were found thisa way!
