hseII brought the rest of the big wood yesterday so we're set in that department. If you guys want cants, I'll have my 24" mill here and someone can cut some earlier in the day for pm racing.
It was a bit cooler today which was a welcome respite. Warpig6 has the butts now and it won't be long before pecan smoke is wafting into the air and making them yummy.
I plan to start mowing tomorrow and have some more log racks to make too. Problem is that I'm too busy to work on saws. The horror!

Proly not needed, but...could you use more hickory for cooking? I have a big stack of hickory heartwood put aside just for cookwood.

Pecan is very similar to hickory. Those two are my favorite.
Been sharpening chains in the evenings. We are bringing pretty much all the saws.(13 between the 3 of us) some are ported, most are not. All of them are fun. Gonna have a 40cc(gz4000), a whole bunch of 50cc (multiple 346's, 260, g5000), 60cc (359, h261, 262xp), 70cc (272xp), and a couple 7900's. Looking forward to trying other saws of all size and age. Gonna bring some pies, some drinks, and some cash to help cover the meat. Gonna be a nice event. Looking forward to it.

Pecan is a type of hickory.

Is Rene coming?

I have most of my saws ready.....mostly. I even have an outdoor shower hanger for the camper. Gotta be clean boys. OH yeah, livin' the high life.

Shea

I'm about ready. Truck is as good as it ever has been, tank topped off, extra snakeoil fluids packed, all cleaned out, tools sorted and toolboxes packed (I don't go anyplace without tools), got the grub ready to rock, etc. Onliest thing left is clean saws and put them in boxes, will carry bars/chains separate.

Hey Shea......stop by and pick me and Jon up. The van is acting up.

Wouldn't bother me a bit, I could always use a small engine mechanic. Remember, I don't have the a/c for the truck or camper, you guys would also have to flip for who sits in the back seat....just an extended cab.

Making the signs today. (well, Groundie is making the signs), I'm trying to fix a string trimmer to do some cosmetic work around the hangar tomorrow when my helpers come. Also today I plan to start moving equipment out from the covered area so that's available for shade/shelter. So far weather forecast looks great. Got a flat on the Bobcat so need to fix that too...

A little late jumping in, but it's been very questionable whether we'd be able to make it. Things are looking good so far, so hopefully we'll make it up. Our son really wanted to go, mainly just to see some new stuff. Never been to an official GTG, so really looking forward to meeting everyone. Trying to get a few saws in order for anyone who likes Homelites. Looks like a good 4 hour drive, so it'll be on up in the morning. Hope to see ya'll Saturday mornin'.

You guys have fun and saw safe. I'd love to make it, but I gotta finish a big home project I started a few weekends ago, this weekend...re-staining out log sided house. Just like one side, but it's 28' off the ground and gonna be slow go.

Maybe next time.
