Does anyone have any uses for old chain?

If you have never busted a cutter off from sharpening too far then you haven't lived

Until that busted off cutter stays stuck in the cut and you're not game to continue cutting with your new chain. Some of our dead hardwoods are just plain nasty on chains. They'll snap cutters off on a powerful saw well before the witness mark

I have a pile of old wrecked chains here. That axehead looks cool though...

What kind of forge do you have. I gave this a try today but couldn't get it to bind. Did you use the borax or something else?
