Ya, you got to make time for the wife and kids. I don't know many women who like their other half gone all the time.

Well, from my limited one afternoon perspective, your wife is quite nice!

But I know what you mean...

They are always nice around others, esp in the beginning, usually only a gusy best friend will see the true woman after a few yrs.Mine was so careful to be so pleasant and polite to others while she did a 180 as soon as they left....

A marriage license should be like a driver's license renew them every 4 yrs if u want too.

Marraige isn't all pony rides and ferris wheels but the gift of family and companionship helps make all the hard times bearable. It's not the bad times that get remembered, its the good times.

When I reflect on the past, It's the good times that stand out the most overshadowing the rest of it.

My ex turned on me and my friends and even the people that I did business with toward the end. It was ugly. She went off on a couple that were buying trees from my nursery one day. I mean she went off. She came storming out of the house, screaming that I had given her the trees for the watershed counsil, and I was selling them out from under her. She was physically spitting mad and on the verge of violence. The couple fled for their car and all I could do was appologize to them. I lost a several hundred dollar sale right there. I did not say a word to her. I just packed my truck and headed to my brother's place. She appologised to me later, and I just told her to :censored: herself. I moved out soon after. That was the bottom for me... and I was not about to go any lower with her.

Those trees are all still down in my old greenhouses there. She did nothing with them, and I refused to bring them here with my other nursery plants. I wonder if she even remembers that event. She has some real psychological issues. Not just PMS, but real dangerous mood swings. They call it multi-personality disorder. I convinced her to see a shrink before I got the rest of my stuff and moved out. I have not heard from her in months. She has my cat, and that bothers me. Other than that, she is his-to-ry.

Shudder... :givebeer: :givebeer: :givebeer: :givebeer:

Been there, done that. Therapy(3 years of it) didn't help & after 22 years I had to walk. She is always going to struggle with everyday life,.... a sad existence. They will take you down the toilet with them, so leaving an staying away is a necessary act of self perservation.

Marriage needs to be a 10-year renewable contract. I have endured for 29 years, so I will probably continue-too old to change now. My last kid left for bootcamp yesterday, so at least I don't have to argue with her about the kids anymore. It helps when I can just go fire up the chainsaw or go fishing and not deal with the crap.

I've been married 9 years today! My wife got up early and cooked me breakfast and everything. I got a good one!

Hey, group therapy on AS is cool!

It can work

My wife and I have a lot of fun together (I got one of the great ones) and she affectionately refers to you guys as the "chainsaw cult". She doesn't necessarily agree with the attached mathematical proof but being an engineer it cracks me up (and good for the 12 year old goo goo for every girl).
