I noticed that too. It appears to be a baseball bat and not a softball bat. And a Little League bat at that. I believe that a grown woman should be using a softball bat. Plus, the poor little boy kid she stole it from can take her name off the 10 most wanted list.

I guess we need to start an "axe for slowp" thread. Everyone send me 2 bucks via Paypal and I'll have Madsen's hold a 4lb rafting axe for her. I hope they have one in pink.

I have one I'll give her. It was originally painted highway orange but it's faded to a definite pink color and the other guys make fun of it.

Wait a minute...no give. I'll trade it for a huckleberry pie. There, that's better. :hmm3grin2orange:

To the base ball bat thing. . .. .I find my self knockin wedges quite often with a club. I tend to be a space case some times and leave my gas and axe behind at the last tree. So insted of walkin back i just cut a 18 or so inch club outta the closest little whip pole. works good if its some type of hard wood.

Maybe its a Wisconsin thing? Maybe there are no good shops near by that carry a good fallers ax? These and many other ?s to ponder as the willow turns.

Maybe somebody was too lazy to walk over to the shop and unlock the door and search for a suitable pounding instrument, besides the guitar. Maybe the bat was closer.

The runaway runaway (scampering) areas are cleared. No there won't be video, I have dialup. Probably no pictures either because the photographer friend is slow and picky about pictures and I can't redo it. I'd rather concentrate--Be the saw, be the saw...be one with the saw...

The Willow Is Down

I cut it down this afternoon. Amazingly, it went in the desired location despite my bad cutting job.

Ooops, fiber pull, scaling deduction...my bad.

That fiber pull is just cause it broke off its hinge as it came aorund- looks like its about 15 degrees short of where you aimed it-- good enough. A heavy crown like that is gonna break some time. But, it came around enough to be in the wide open for an easy clean up. Next step, figuring where its gonna break off when youre pulling it through a bunch of leave trees. Never mind, you're in symmetrical timber county.

Great work!

What the heck is that? Not the stump cut but that thing behind it?

That thing is the Fischer-Price half of one of those plastic slides made so no little kid will have too much fun and sue the company. I have many pickup loads of such left behinds to haul to the dump.

The tree was pretty, but had lost two limbs last winter, and I'm seeing the bird and bug holes now that it is on the ground. Willows are pretty, but messy.

I'll allergy pill up and go out and do some more cleanup. Thanks for the help.
Now, if you all will bring some rakes and wheelbarrows...:)
