I have bid on several saws, the past few weeks. I have received at least 3 bogus second chance offers. I have bid on other stuff but for some reason only get the offers on the saws. Probably because of $ amount. Just wanted to pass this along.

All of them looked like e-bay messages but ask you to contact the seller directly by E-mail. The first one I got, I contacted the seller through the Item, Ask seller a Question. Guy thought I was wacked. Then I looked at the correspondence closer and you could tell it was bogus.

I too have received two bogus saw offers in the last few months; both of which originated in Europe; I contacted the real sellers both times; all I can say to explain is that it's a lot harder to prosecute things in some european countries; scammers can say they have an american friend or something, and have you send money to their europe address while they are "away".....

WATCH OUT AND USE EBAY FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI- Ebay isn't listing bidder ID's on the auctions anymore just because of this type of problem. I think this is a very recent change. Now they say "bidder #1" instead of the ebay handle.

That's only after a certain dollar amount. Looks like $100.

I've only had one bogus "second chance" offer. The person contacting me didn't have a clue what the item was. That's a good tip.

Scammers and spammers--bedbugs and bird flu to all of them.

This is a big problem on Flea Bay. Even Howard Stern's number one man, Bobba Bowie, got taken while trying to purchase some rare item. The tip off is: wired money for payment. Don't do it!
