I bought a truck sterling LT 9513 MODEL
I have international bucket 4900 with 6 speed
I got manual from company i bought the truck from so i can study.
When i go to pick it up this guy nathan was informing how to shift it has a high and low switch on the stick shift.Im 2 hours from PA to nj.He tells me when i upshift or down shift to flip the range switch when its in nuetrel.I called EATONS 24 HOUR TECHNICAL SERVICE.He informed me when i switch from high to low or low to high do it while its in gear not nuetrer because it can damage syncros.I have to learn to double clutch to begin and learn to up shift and down shift any one have any tips thanks.4 LOW and 4 high 8 speed.
I called the guy nathan to inform him his information was incorrect and they should educate themselves so when they advise the buyer so they dont look bad.I love the truck its the shifting that i will have to get used to

That trans should have a range shift on the front of the knob and a blue splitter button on the thumb side...The blue button is used for deep reduction on the low side...Basically you can split everything on the low side for off road or heavy haul...Always pre-select before clutch or shifting...That tranny should be easy to shift w/o the clutch once rolling...Once you pre-select and let off it will shift itself...Good luck...

Thanks Its not a problem the first 4 gears in low its going over to fifth up shifting. Now i know i have to double clutch and like you said do not clutch or shift until i preselect for example from 4th low pop range up to high then clutch to nuetrel then clutch again to 5th.Im going to find a nice stretch of road that is not busy and try to practice there. Thanks for the help.

you should easily be able to float that trans w/out clutching, unless the truck is equipped with a jake, and you leave it on all the time. The exception to this is downshifting, in which case you will most likely have to double clutch it. when changing ranges, always preselect the range shift.
