maybe we should all play the game....

and buy something.... call him on it.... tell him we spent numerous hours making it right, and he now owes us $100's or $1000's of dollars for our repairs...

just a thought.

Trust me I'm watching that 4000 but knowing this guy his reserve is way, way up there.

I would nail him to the cross for saying he put a 3700 filter cover when it is actually a 3400 cover.

Ok, that sucks.

All i can is this: you've done everything right & ebay will side with you. Its not your fault he decided to take to fixing it. Offering a full refund is more than enough. Im pretty sure if you look at the fine print on the FAQ page of buyer problems it says right off the bat to contact the seller IMMEDIATELY. If the buyer decides to start messing around with the product he's gotten (and is stupid enough to tell you in writting he's done so) then he hasnt got a leg to stand on. He bought it, he started working on = he accepted it.

Ive never had a negative feedback left, but do have friends who have & in a case like this, while it will be there in the short term, they (ebay) will almost certainly remove it in no time.

Avoid the temptation to 'get back at him' - at least while this case is still open - as it will weaken your position with ebay. It sounds like this guy has a history of issues as a buyer, so im sure ebay is aware of them & will help out. It will just take a little time.

That is Sooo True, Trimmmed,
I sold a BR550 Backpack blower, It got bid up to nearly the price of a new one, (when I see that happen now, -it worries me). It was clean and ran perfect, and was capable of spinning itself in circles when left on dry pavement with the throtttle wide open. I ship it clear across the country from CT to CA. The buyer calls me and says "its not powerful enough". I had no choice but to take it back (if I want to maintain my 100 feedback score) and so I did, and he knew it too -I figure he just had buyer's remorse.

Either buyers remorse or he got one cheaper. That happened to my SIL, she sold a small appliance that was basically unused, new condition and 2 days after it was paid for the same buyer bought another identical appliance on ebay for $35 less and then claimed the unit was not as described. She had to take it back and refund price and shipping, with the buyer paying the return shipping ($16) So the buyer netted out $19 and SIL lost $16. She pointed out what the buyer had bought and ebay could care less and wouldn't even refund their fees so she actually lost more.

I just sent this off to Bowmasterbater...

Could you post a picture of the saw with the compression gauge? I have heard alot of stories about saws coming across ebay with bad oilers, cracked fuel lnes, or bad top ends. I just want to make sure this one is in fact legit. I'd hate to take it out of the box and have to spend 4 hours fooling with it before I can cut wood.

I'll post the response if I get one.

Hey Trimmed, nice to see you mixing it up with the rank-and-file once in a while.

i read this whole thread with interest, as i never have used ebay, other than to see pics of stuff,,,, but the one highlight of the story is, nobody claimed these problems were because the saw was a poulan!!!!!!!!!!

have you seen his 'instructional' bow saw videos on you tube? search lkhk2009
check out the closing lines to part II.

Trimmmed is right about the fact that the only rules that matter are the ones that eBay sets.

I am working on having all my "junk", [ I have already stoped listing saws,] , sold in a couple of months, and I will part company with eBay after about 10 years and 1600 some odd feedbacks.

Want an example of how they operate with sellers?

I qualify as a powerseller and had a top ranked seller rating with ratings of 5.0 and 4.9 on all the others. I lost money several times to keep buyers happy with eBay and myself.

Think they care?

eBay pulled my top rated seller rating this month even though I still have the 5.0 and 4.9 on all the others.

Why did they do it? I did not sell enough in December to suit them.

So that's the bottom line on eBay. It's all about how much money THEY can make.

To H with everybody else. Just my 2 cents from a soon to be ex eBay seller.

Just got this back.

Dear b200driver,

Those pics of compression guages are a waste of time. How could you possibly know that the guage you are looking at is attached to the right saw? If somebody is going to be disshonest about it,a pic won't prove anything. Most people who sell saws with all those problems like you are describing are rookies or either they just don't know what they are selling. This saw is coming from a experienced saw dealer and all that stuff you are concerned about has already been fixed and tested. The saw is ready to cut wood,I have already spent the 4 hours working on it for you. Thanks,Hal

sounds like he actually did the work or is just knows what your doing. Dealers can be slow, 30min = 4 hour. HA :poke:

I guess I got lucky, I sold him a bow bar for an old Homelite a couple months ago and he left me positive feedback. He is on my blocked buyers list now.

Um $69 bucks for shipping is this coming from the moon?

$ 15.00 - $ 20.00 is more understandable Fed ex it cost me $ 20.00 to ship a oregon 511AX grinder out

and i know a saw is much lighter than the chainsaw grinder

Besides i know where there is a bow bar green poulan bow bar new at

we should all make fake ebay accounts (it's easy) and buy up all his stuff and then hit him with neg feedback.........lol

he bought a saw from me some time ago that was listed "as is for parts only low compression" for $25 and when he got it he pulled the same crap stating that the piston was scored and the saw is junk and wanted $20 back and I told him to send it back and I'd refund him plus shipping back, nope he wanted the partial refund, he didn't give me a neg but that was when sellers could give neg feedback also, we never gave feedback and he parted the saw out...
