I agree, front guard made of plastic mesh is NOT SAFE, and all brand helmets have metal mesh on front guard...

it is not a safe helmet

buying the helmet that does not meet ansi or ul standards is not smart. the helmet pictured is of ???? origins ie may be made in china or some other country

Thanks much! I will go with the Bailey's one with an order for loops. Its a dirty job, and someone has to do it right! (not like Mike Rowe w/o his safety gear on the TV show Dirty Jobs).

Up to now I have been using safety glasses, hard hat and stuff-in ear protection, but it is always scattered...

The mesh on the front is not going to stop a kickback anyway. The bill of the hard hat might though.

Not true - all the Stihl helmets here have plastic mesh visors, the Petzl helmets come with Stihl plastic mesh visors. It maybe a personal choice, I don't like metal mesh it rusts in our salty environment and get all squashed and mangled in the truck. I wear glasses under the visor anyway.
