she just emailed me pics and its an 036 pro that appears to be in decent shape.

She said "my mistake" :dizzy:

Now what to do. I kind of still want it to flip and pay some people, but should i offer a different price?

I have neve been in this situation before.

Run Away! Deceptive sellers are just not worth taking a chance with, no matter how good the deal looks.

The seller can't just cancel the transaction, the seller can submit a cancellation request to the buyer, but it's the buyer's call. The seller can just refuse to ship and take the negative fb, Even if the buyer agree's to cancel, the feedback still works on a canceled transaction, positve or negative.

clarification:
yes, the seller initiates the cancel transaction option.
yes, the buyer has to agree to it for it to take.

i stated it in such a way that bowtie would take the initiative and mention it to the seller in the event that tempers flare.

i should have been more thorough in my explaination.

i used this method once with an ebay noob that inadvertantly tried to screw me on a jeep transfer case. i mentioned that as an alternative to making me go through with the transaction and getting bad feedback from me, that he could cancel and i would accept.
no harm, no foul.
it worked.

another suggestion:

you two could join forces and arrange a pick up and pay in person.
arrow could check it over for you and make sure it is all kosher.

That sounds like a fine idea, but I cant ask someone to do that. God knows where that could lead in todays world. Plus I dont want to make my problem anyone elses.

Normally I would say no problem, love to help an AS member out (especially a Chevy man) but this woman seems to be a little flakey and not too StAbLe. I would consider it if my wife was able to be with me ( for a witness and possibly protection). She has to work the rest of the week.

I think your getting the better saw outta this deal as long as nothing is wrong with it. You could easily flip that saw for almost 100 more if its in good shape and running condition.

Man I would love to paste the messages I have sent/received, its insane, just not sure if I would be in violation of the rules.

Its pretty good reading.

any seller thats legit would furnish a land line phone number.

get the number and check the address.

talk it out on phone and do a reverse lookup on phone number

stay cool, strange things happen .

lack of communication is the biggest problem with most ebay transactions

Imma try that.

any pics that are used on ebay are the property of ebay and anyone can use them to

represent an item!!!! BE CAREFUL.

I havent sent payment. In one message she says someone copied her pic. Then she says she copied it and didnt understand. She also says her brother is bringing the saw to her. I asked for legit pics. Still waiting. The only thing that dont jive is the feedback is perfect with 800+ transactions.

I have every message saved.

When i looked at the completed auctions, the one with multiple pics shows up, but mine does not (I used the make offer choice to buy it).

However, it shows up in my ebay.

Tell them to take a picture of the saw with a specific item, say a 20 oz. Coke bottle and a newspaper of current date, in the picture. That shouldn't be unreasonable and will guarantee if they have the saw or not. The other username is "waitingforchrist," and the one you won ends with "God bless," so I'd be leery of both of them. Anyone who feels compelled to put that crap in a business deal is a little shady to begin with.

I'm in the middle of sorting out a shady deal involving, indirectly, someone from this site. So, good luck.

At first look the cities of Romeoville and Spotsylvania seemed like a joke. Google says they exist. REJ2.

Spotsylvania is real enough. During the Civil War it was Spotsylvania Courthouse. Great big battle between Grant's and Lee's armies, Jeb Stuart was killed while the battle was taking place--but not at the battle itself.

Romeoville sounds familiar, I think not far from me.

I know, the feeling!
