EBAY Purchase!!

What do you guys think, I bought a new Stihl MS 460 for $580. The saw was purchased through a wholesale auction(businesses that went under) and sold on ebay. The seller said the warranty card does not come with it but it is guranteeed to be new and not a remanufactured saw. This guy also sold a MS 660 for $810.Do you think a dealer would run the serial number with stihl and verify the saw was never registered and list it for warranty coverage? The dealer I work with would be cool about it. I buy enough stuff from him. I think $10,000 this past year. So he really can't complain about buying it on ebay.

My guess is he would not. Besides why pi$$ off your normal dealer, the big saws only have a 90 day warranty anyway.

You may want to think twice before you submit the serial number to Stihl. There have been cases of hot saws turning up on eBay.

Hot as in STOLEN.

Got my saw today, great saw. How can you tell when it was made. I was just curius if it was a new but older ms460 or a new one(2004). I noticed under the handle the plastic is crossed for support instead of the straight plastic support lines. Is this the new modle handle? Thanks for the replies!!
