The 501 filters leave a lot to be desired. Does anyone make a better filter for them? I don't know if it's the 2 piece design or poor seal on the intake to filter mount but mine constantly has fine dust in the intake.

This works on oem. 2 piece design. Put a o-ring in the air filter mount area inside air filter like shown.
Also there is a guy selling 3D printed stuff to run a better air filter system for them on feebay.

Not sure as it has been so long ago since I did that on mine. The package shows it came from a husky 272 o-ring they used in saw.

You could lay a piece of string, etc., in the filter where the O-ring is to fit to determine the circumference of the O-ring.
Found old pic in my old thread on this with part number to right orings.

The guy referenced above sells a bolt-on mod that allows a CS-400 or CS-450 filter to be used on the 4910/501. A 200%-300% improvement in airflow, and last far longer than the OEM before changing.
Also, the 400/450 filters are half the cost of the ones for the 4910. Their info:

I dont need it here. My hacked ported echo with just o-ring and stock af never let a fines through during all the tornado downed tree clean up. $2 fix.
I wish they redesign the whole 501 af set up like a 7310 4310 af set up. But keep it mag cased and non strato too. Unlike they did the 4910 replacement.

Also the larger 272 o-ring shown in pic above. Never measured it for specs, as it was perfect.

You get specs you let us know. Like I said above, I never measured since 272 fits perfect.

I have 2 boxes of o-rings and out of all of them nothing fit like the husky one shown.

All it took was a search of 272 part number for info. Right there. If info online is right.
