Jacob, you remind me a lot about Lakeside. He had seen it all before and his comments were always spot on.

Back to topic : I ruined a good husky 262 top end with a episan circlip comin loose. Their pistons look really good imo but the circlips are of poor quality wire and don't have the correct tensile strength imo. I always re-use the original ones or go OEM now.

I wish Andy was still posting here. I figure he is enjoying life more now. I like the hell out of that guy. Pleasure to deal with, and talk to.

Hey Guys, New to the forum and really appreciate all the info I have found here. I see by the date this link is older but I thought I'd add my experience that I had today. I traded a guy a load of firewood for a Husky 570 that was in pieces in a box. The piston and jug was scored. I ordered a aftermarket 575 jug, piston, rings, gasket and wrist pen with CHEAP wire clips. When I saw the clips I was very concerned but figured who ever designed them knew what he was doing. I didn't have the old oem clips so I put the saw together and within the first 5 minutes of running part of a clip broke off and destroyed the piston and jug. The outer part of the wire clip was still in the groove but the bent middle part had broke off and was embedded in the side of the piston. The cost of good clips can't be but a few pennies more than the junk that was sent to me. I just don't get it. I'm trying to get the EBAY seller to replace it but I don't know how that is going to work. I may be out $90 bucks. From now on, it's OEM clips or I don't put the saw together.
