If you repair 2 stroke ope, you need this tool -
Instead of an inner tube, a piece of a thick balloon would work the same way on the intake side and not seal up leaks on carb side.Essential? No way.
If you want to be prim and proper- have a fetish for labelled gadgets, cannot figure out how to make do with what can be found, have a fat wallet- sure, go get yourself one- but there are many ways to skin a cat.
Na that won’t work, you’ll have leaks through the shafts.Instead of an inner tube, a piece of a thick balloon would work the same way on the intake side and not seal up leaks on carb side.
Sure whatever works for you. The take away is using something hard and flat that won’t take up the clearance.Essential? No way.

Yeah it can seal off larger ones too. Same with that firmer rubber, lots of people use the orange stuff in the USA and it’s just as bad.Interesting - that the inner tube could seal off very minor leaks. Also, inner tube material is soft and will flex with pressure or vacuum, maybe taking longer to reach test pressure. I use a thicker (3/16"), firmer piece of rubber that is not likely to do that. A solid adaptor as shown should not be that difficult to duplicate.

Sorry mate you’ve totally lost me with “balloon” and “carb side” and “not seal on intake side” I have no idea what any of that means. Ultimately if it works for you, that’s all that mattersHow so? It should work same as an inner tube to seal the venturi but much thinner.
Just sharing some advise covering something I have been tripped up on before.Does he think he is re-inventing the wheel?
I get that but the guy is not reinventing the wheel as much as he thinks he is.Just sharing some advise covering something I have been tripped up on before.
I don’t think he thinks he is? He’s a YouTube hack anyways…I get that but the guy is not reinventing the wheel as much as he thinks he is.
I am not much on utubers
How much $$$ from the Steal dealer ? if they will sell you one.......
If your are a Stihl freak- some rubber and a pair of scissors- hold the rubber in place with the carb and muffler supplied by the saw- test through the impulse hose. How much is your time worth?
Find the metal, find the rubber, find the tubing or barbed fitting, cut and grind, drill some holes, make some holes, tap or weld............
Depending on which one is needed they typically run $15-$30 on eBay.
Just a few examples.
