Right now the farmertec g888 is 512, the parts kit is 499. Do you guys think that will fall to around where the g660 is or do you think enough people will pay 500 to keep the price there or make it rise?

Yeah I get that all commodities are going up. But does anyone remember if the other releases were more expensive in the beginning and then dropping price. Basically I would rather wait if the price is going drop.

Don’t buy the first one. Wait till they fix all the crap parts that don’t fit or don’t work.

But don’t hold your breath, it may be a very long time.

I might be interested in one, but more like half the price they are asking, given that you will likely need a lot of OEM parts to make it work.

I’ll wait till the price comes down, and someone else figures out which parts are no good.

Id expect it to climb upwards of 550 to 575 and ~510 becomes the black friday/fathers day price..

The reviewers have been chomping at the bit to get them and find fault, but so far, none have arrived damaged or failed to fire easily with little to no tuning needed out the box. 600 shipped is about as good as it gets in the 122cc saw range

You are probably right but I want you to be wrong. I have very little need for it, being that I’ve got the Clone ms070 and a clone ms660 on the way. But I bet that thing crushes those saws in an Alaskan chainsaw mill. That’s why I’m looking at it.

Oh, sorry, my comments are aimed at the parts kit, not the assembled saw.

2or3 of 4 first ones in US had broken clutch cover front edges. We suggested different packaging on clutch cover by itself.

I was so hoping mine didnt land with broken cover. Even in FT cover is pricey for 88. Mine made it it once piece.

I am sure that once they recover from tooling costs and materials acquisition that the price of the 880 will be reduced some, but not as low as the 660. The only "Stihl" kit saw I have yet to build is the 250. I have not built any of the husky kits. The parts quality of the 880 kits are several steps above all other kits that I have put together with exception the Cylinder, it had typical aftermarket port issues. My only issues after assembly so far is a leaky muffler. And the Rim that was included in the kit was out of spec.

I wouldn’t expect the prices to come down, because they are selling well at that price. I would expect the prices of the other models to go up, and we are seeing that with the “pro” models.
