Close to my wiew, but exchange the 346xp for the Dolmar 5100S (at least until the "new edition" 346xp has proven itself), and forget the 13" bar.......

..or do as Shoerfast said, for a heavier and more powerful pair....

I agree with WV, 361 and 260 Pro will take care of that requirement with power left over. No need for 'overkill' on such small trees.
This was a Silver Maple Tree last year, used the 3120 575 on it.

Exactly, why use two saws? - Just use one for the job intended.

Because you "need" two saws, minimum....duh!!! You "one saw" guys make us look bad.

Okay, that said, if I was in 2-3 ft trees all day, the 066 would be getting a lot of run time. However, I'd like something smaller to do the branches. 361/359/357xp would be nice. Then a 5100 or 260Pro to finish up.

I'm old, I have a bad back, and I want more than one stinkin' saw. Where the hell did you guys come from? One saw, geez, you aren't right in the head, I tell ya...

I thought he was looking for two sizes so when it was a big tree he would grab the big one or medium depending on the tree. I always take a spare. When I use the 066 its my felling bucking and limbing saw. 044 is my all around do everything saw. I always crack up when someone wants a 40-50cc limbing saw long bar 70cc plus is what i always recomend.

Fair enough. Unfortunatly since I am a one saw guy, with a spare in the pick up I have 4 that sit on my shop floor until winter when I can play.

Sorry, what I meant was two saws to take to a job. I may not use both saws but a backup saw always seems to come in handy especially on the bigger stuff.

That's a good example!

Most of our work involves climbing, so the saws of choice would be a 335 Husky and modded 372 or 7900 Dolmar.

If felling, a 5100S for the smaller saw, modded of course. Pulls a 20 inch bar with ease in any wood.

Of course we usually have at least 8 saws on the truck, of most all sizes. Bring the 066 and 3120 if the trees' size warrant their use.

No Jonny, because of the lack handlebar angle.......

...sad, but that is how it is......

You will get used to it. 372 is of course not a bad alternative. hard to get nowdays. The Johnny has better air intake than the Husky so normally you
can get a little bit more power out of the Jonsered. The HD air filter won't give you much on the 372 but much more on the 2171. Then the 75cc BB kit, port job and muffler mod and you are ready to go :chainsawguy:

Stock , I would maybe have taken the 372.

There ya go... My 361 and 028 always accompany my 044 where ever I am cuttin'. Never know when you will need a backup. The 028 and 361 wikll keep the same bars on them... but I will switch bars on the 044 depending on how big the wood is (28" or 32").

...or I could just bring the Termite... LOL:bowdown:

I take 3 everywhere. The 3120, 066, and SuperXL. Last time out, the oil pump went out on the 066 so I had to use the SuperXL where the 066 would be used, and fortunately didn't have to unbolt the 3120 from the mill which would have been a PIA, plus having to do little crap with a 3120 with a 36" bar. Not my favorite "trim-up" combo...

I've used a 038 and a 064:)angel: R.I.P.) for years. Currently using a MS360 & the 038. Hunting for a 064/066/MS660 currently for a big saw. Haven't always needed two but it's nice to have that spare saw when you're in a bind :)

395 and 345 for those kinds of trees.7900 and 510 for when i want to be a nonconformist,Husky 61 and Echo 370 for a change.

Gotcha, I always have a saw set up for the wood I am in for that day, with the other in the cross box of the pick -up.

For example, this morning I had to cut some second stage (big trees that are left standing until already felled trees are skidded - need good lays to save them out.) So I had my 660 with a 36" set up.
After finishing that unit, we moved at mid day and I used my 460 with a 32" for the smaller stuff.
I will never switch in the middle of the day unless of course it is a situation like this morning.

So what’s your (2 saw only) chainsaw pick? Specifically for: felling, and bucking trees up to 3’(mostly 2’) in diameter. Usage would not be heavy, say 4 trees per month. Looking also to cut the stump off at ground level so you could be faced with 4’ plus in diameter.

If the trees are hardwood ya' better bring some saw...Min. MS660 or 395XP. Throw in an MS441 for cleanup. Full skip Rapid Super and you're ready to go!
